THE ZOOLOGICAL GARDEN IN WROCLAW

On a preparation day we went to

the Zoological Garden.

We had a great time as we covered about

30ha.

I didn't keep track of what most of the animals are

but enjoy the pictures!
Look at those horns!

The ZOO was first opened in 1865.
It closed during the 1920s and
there were only 200 animals that survived the War.
I had never seen shells like these.

When the ZOO first opened there were 189 animals.

Recognize a bison losing its winter coat?!

This is an Aguti.

Long and skinny from head to tail!

This monkey really had cute actions and

followed Elder Moon around the shelf he sat on.
Notice the length of his arms!!

These pea cocks were gorgeous!

Today there are over 4000 animals of over 600 species.

The big orange flamingo was the leader and

guard of the flock!!

When we first came to these birds they were ALL
standing there with their heads up looking all

around. As soon as I opened the camera the

signal went out from the big orange one and as on

a signal ALL the heads were tucked away the wing!
When I put the camera away another signal was

given from the big orange bird and ALL raised their

head and looked around.

Again opening the camera the signal was given and

ALL the heads were again tucked away!!
Pretty smart birds!!

This animal was scratching his back with his horn!

Reindeer from guess where!!

There are many animals who are protected species

and others that can no longer be found in their

natural habitats.

Giraffe
