KARPACZ AND SUDETY MOUNTAINS

This picture was near t he end of this post but
I accidentally deleted it and I don't know how to
get it back at the end!! Anyway....
This was Agata's home when she was a
young girl in small village.
It was a beautiful and tranquil area.
I loved it there!!

Elder Moon has wanted to go to the
MOUNTAINS
in Poland
even though we have been to the mountains
in Szczyrk.
For several weeks we planned to go with
Agata Cielenska to Karpacz.
So finally we were able to go.
Align CenterKarpacz is a resort area south west of here on the
border of Poland and Czech Republic.
There are two lifts to take you to the top and
one goes into Czech and one doesn't.
Here are pictures of scenery on the way.

These"twin mountains" were nearly always in
our sites all day even though we traveled many
kilometers away from them.
We stopped at this restaurant for directions to the lift.
Inside was carved wood...
These chairs are very attractive and the post holding the
loft ate carved figures. There were a lot of other
carving around, also.
Agata and Emilia near the lift.
There were so many people waiting for the lift we decided to
no go up and we shopped then walked around the area.

We found a pretty falls in a peaceful setting.
Elder Moon had purchased a nice cane and it
was useful as he climbed down the embankment
to be closer to the water.
Walking back to the car.

On the way down the hill side we came upon this.
We couldn;t remember there being anything here
as we came up but here it was blocking the
whole road!!
We had to just wait and in ten minutes the truck moved
on its way and we were on our way.
We also visited the Wang Church.
This was a wooden sacral building built in Norway
in the 12th century. There are only two of its kind outside
of Norway. This one was sold to a Prussian and was moved
to the Karkonosze Mountains in the mid 1800's.
This sits in a beautiful mountain area and
has many Vikings symbols on it.

A view (and the other pictures were better
but we weren't in them!) of the country side from
the hill where the church is.

We then went to
SZKLARSKA POREBA..

...and saw this beautiful water fall.
Agata and Emilia enjoying the view.
This is in a very rocky canyon
of the Sudety Mountains.
The waterfall is 13 meters high (about 43 feet).
More beautiful scenery.
The pictures don't do it justice!!
More scenery!!
It was a beautiful day seeing so much country
and the company was the best.
