ZONE CONFERENCE FOR SENIORS

After the lunch break at Zone Conference the
Seniors were excused to do whatever they wanted.
Elder and Sister Neiman showed us around the city square
of Katowice.
We first went to an art museum.
Elder Moon and Sisters Sheets and Neiman climbing the stairs.
I think this was my favorite picture in the
museum and it was on the wall in the corner
of the hall at the top of the stairs.
In the museum was also a 3 D apparatus to
see pitures from the turn of the century.
There were photos from many parts of Europe
and some were very life like and very interesting!!

We found a bright piano outside the museum and we
couldn't pass the opportunity to play a
little street music for the passers by!!
Close by was a monument to the Polish Boy Scouts.
These young men were much like the
'whistlin' whittlin' brigade' of Nauvoo.
They were just young boys playing in the streets
keeping their eyes and ears open to the Nazi
soldiers then reporting to the Polish underground.

Sign on the monument.

The back side with the
Warsaw Uprising insignia.
Of course the Nazi soldiers knew the
boys were just boys and paid them no mind
thinking they didn't know what was going on. Then to the pottery shop.
Nearly every city has a pottery shop selling the
world famous Boleslawiec pottery.
Of course we bought two small trays but wanted more!!
Here is a beautiful church at the end of their
promanade or walking street.
A very lovely part of town.
Another view of the street.
