ZAMEK IN ZABKOWICE SLASKIE

On January 24, our Preparation Day

we took Sister Sheets and Elder Sheridan and

Elder Vreeken to visit some CASTLES.Here are the Elders standing at the entrance of the WALL

around the Zabkowice Slaskie Castle.

This CASTLE was begun in 1524 and has a square floor plan.

There was to have been an addition

wing added to the Castle but was never completed.
Talk about a long building project!

The doors were blocked and there was no entrance

although there was signs of someone sleeping
just inside the front gate and there were foot prints
in the snow inside the walls of the castle.

How woukd somethuing like this be built in

the 1500's?

HUGE scaffolding!!

Even a different brick which was probably

added or reconstructed at a later time.

Why were these indentations here?

Elder Sheridan climbed up the "HILL"
to stand on the outside chamber.

Sister Sheets wanted to but decided it was

too slick, I tried also but had a skirt on and

was frightened on the thoughts of coming down!

There are two towers or bastions built.

They are onthe south side and capable of

DEFENCE of the castle.
Elder Moon climbed up to peer out an open doorway.

The LONG wall on the west side.

we were able to see the interior walls of the

COURTYARD.

And where there is a large grassy area -

even if it IS between a CASTLE and the surrounding

WALL -

there is a place for football
