THE DAY OF THE DEAD

November 1 is the DAY of the DEAD.
This is a day to decorate the
GRAVES of passed loved one and FAMILY members.
For weeks the stores have sold candles in
GLASS jars and FLOWERS.
The CORNER flower stands INCREASED
in numbers. For two or three days before
EVERYONE was buying flowers and CANDLES!

Being FHE that evening we met at the church, had
a light refreshment (we were going to have
some warm tea but it was so warm outside that
we did not need or want a warm drink!!), then went
to the OLD CEMETERY.
This is a stand selling flowers and candles just
outside the cemetery wall.
Notice the empty boxes that held candles.
The GROB (I don't know the plural)were
beautifully decorated. It seemed that no
expense was too great in remembering the DEAD.
Many burial plots had a bench nearby for
family or friends to remember and ponder
on their loved ones life and passing.
Some had not a lot and ....
some had many!!

Some were random in color and arrangement
and...

others were well coordinated.

In a walkway there was this tall cross and
you can hardly see it but near the
cross bar is a small figure of CHRIST.
People could keave their candle in
remembrance of Christ here.
Some with us had heard other reasons
for these candles but then someone said it
wasn't true so this sounds good to me.
Hundreds were here!!
He IS one to be REMEMBERED
and HONORED as
the Savior and Redeemer and
RISEN LORD!!
A feew dsays before this celebration there was a
shooting in a political office and a man was killed.
Here is his grave. Still with flowers from the funeral.
Beautifully arranged!!
We noticed that for several days after the First
there were people still bringing flowers and candles
to the cemeteries.
As we moved to Wroclaw on November 5th we passed
many cemeteries and they were
beautiful in bright colorful flowers and candles.
This is a side entrance next to the
main entrance of the cemetery.
We had a great evening and a great
opportunity to bear witness to those
with is of the LIFE, TEACHINGS,
and RESURRECTION of the SAVIOR.
OH, IF EVERYONE KNEW
AND BELIEVED AND LIVED IT!!
WHAT GREAT PEACE THERE
WOULD BE IN MOURNING
AND IN LIVING!!
