CASTLE IN LECZYCA POLAND

On a Preparation Day in June we went as a district to
Leczyca Poland to visit a castle. This castle was built
about 1330. It has been in many battles and most
of it has been re-built over the years.
We enjoyed the day together.
After walking the grounds, posing for
pictures in the stocks, visiting the museum
and climbing the tower we had a picnic in a
nearby park then headed for home.

This is the entrance gate with a statue standing guard.
This is the outside view of the tower and wall.
At one time there was a mote around the castle
and you can still see part
of it near the wall.

This is a stairway inside the entry way.
This leads to rooms that now house offices and
museum things.

This is the inside of the big entry door.
The platform to the right is part of the stairway in
the previous picture. Elder Moon and I
were also here in early May and the big
door was all open then. We did not see as
much whenwe were here before because of time
limitations. I am glad we came back and saw the museums
and climbed the tower.

Another building straight in from the entry door
and across the open field area. During August
people come from all over Poland to participate in and
watch dueling contests and other Knight games here
in the field area.
View of the tower from the inside area of the castle.
We climbed the tower and stood at the top
by the scalloped edge. Beautiful views.
We could almost see the Church in Tum just
2km away although there were trees in the way.
(We showed pictures of the church in a previous blog)
