A CITY MOURNS

Notice the flags on the tram. They all had the flags with the
black ribbons for two weeks. Most taxis did, also.
As many of you have heard there was a tragedy
in Poland April 10, 2010.
It has been quite an experience being here
and mourning with the people here.
A woman from Lodz was among the victims.
She was a lawyer. We walked to her home
and saw these flowers and candles
at the entrance.

Flags were flown from nearly every building.
Look closely and you can see the black ribbon
tied to the tip of the flag pole. This is one on the builsing
next to our apartment.

Elsder Moon by a government building
on "P" Street.

These are flowers and candles near the
entrance of the government building.

There is a staute on the sidewalk in front of this building
of a man sitting on a bench.
This woman was sitting by him and
it made such a nice picture but before
I could get it (I was going to ask her) she moved away.

Here is a memorial on oneof the squares in town.
The picture is of the president of Poland.
