PLANTING AND FLOODING

These are some interesting things we saw on
our trip to Bydgoszcz last week.
Men working in the fields with hand tools.
We saw many fields in one particular area with
people working them.
Some were doing furrows with a hand tool
and some planting.
This dziadek (grandfather) was doing the furrow.
And behind was his zona (wife) or
babcia (grandmother) planting with
a small spade.
As we were stopped to take her
picture she had finished one and paused to
stretch and turn around and relax there
for a minute or so -- thrn back to the next one.
I couldn't see the seeds she was putting in
or where she carried them but
she would dig and put something in the ground
then put dirt over it and pat it with the trowel.
Little whiffs of dirt were lifted as she worked.
REMEMBER SUCH TIMES AT HOME?!

In another area we saw some of the flooding
resulting from the heavy rainfalls we have had in Poland.
Here is a river and the country side it passed through.
Notice the tree or large bush tops.

This is as we crossed the river.

We saw many fields with water standing in them
and a lot of water over the river banks here.
