THE HERBST MANSION

One preparation day we visited the Herbst Mansion

Museum here in Lodz. It has been turned

into a museum of a home with furnishings

from the 1800's and early 1900'2.

The family who lived here had a huge

fabric manufacturing mill and was very wealthy!!

This is a large pond behind the home, The gardens used

to go to the edge of the pond but has since been fenced off

and the yards and gardens are separate.

The day we were here we saw several men fishing

and a lot of people sunbathing and relaxing in the sunny afternoon.
It is a beautiful area.

This building is near the mansion and was the
stable and coach house.
